Saturday Roundup-The Crazy Tax Return Edition

This week has been a big, crazy week for me. I am still really shocked over our huge tax return and have yet to come up with any good ideas as to what we should do with the money. I have been very busy behind the scenes with lots of bloggy business, all I can say if there is a lot of cool new things heading to Mommy Gets PAID very soon!

Some News and Good Things from the Week:

Starting with this past Thursday, we will have a feature each week from Kyle at Rather-Be-Shopping. He will be sharing all the best bargains on the internet as well as other tips, stories and fun stuff. Be sure to stop in every Thursday so you never miss Kyle’s Coupons. If you missed the first edition, you can check it out here.

I am officially a part of the Snowflake Revolution, though I have yet to discuss my own snowflaking practices(you can expect a lot about that soon). If you are unfamiliar with the concept, check out PaidTwice’s Snowflaking Primer and head over to the Snowflake Revolution site to learn more and join in.

I am also officially a Frugal Hacker. You can head over to Frugal Hacks for all things frugal and to join the blogroll.

Another really cool thing is the Finwikian-Mrs. Micah has launched a personal finance wiki (just like wikipedia, but for finance) and it is full of cool stuff like a list of personal finance blogs. You can check out my page at the Finwikian here.

Carnivals and Other Web Goodies:

I took part in the 2nd edition of the Money Hackers Carnival hosted at Being Frugal and my post Save Money, Get Free Stuff was an editors pick!

Some other great articles from this edition of the carnival:

My mind is sort of boggling at all the info on this page. But I am going to go to some of these to check them out. I’m intrigued by snowflake thing, for instance. And I want to check out carnivals. I’ve never participated in one of those either. And I will be back!!! Thank you!

Very exciting! :) I’m looking forward to your collaboration with Kyle, I think you’ve both got a lot of experience I don’t in shopping.

Thanks for mentioning the Finwikian! :)

Thanks for including my article LJ.
Most of my mistakes stemmed from improper attitudes toward money. Hopefully people can learn from my mistakes.

Ron- I hope folks can learn too. I find it can be easier to avoid mistakes if you have heard someone else’s stories, so I think your article can help people learn.
